Although she’s been honored countless time for her looks, sex appeal and fashion sense, Jessica Alba took top honors this year on a list most never imagined she’d be on: Forbes 40 Richest Self Made Women. Come again? The Mexican American actress turned entrepreneur co-founded The Honest Company in 2012 as an answer to living a more holistic and natural life. Her own wish for non-toxic household cleaners and organic diapers was apparently a shared one. Three years since its founding Alba’s venture has made $10 million in revenue and is reported to be worth $1 billion. Her low-key life as as a wife and mom of two keeps her out of the spotlight intentionally. “I don’t need to be in the press or seen,” she has said. “Just because I’m not in magazines or because I’m not in a movie doesn’t mean I’m going away.” This doesn’t mean that she’s left show business for good though. After all her success on TV and in movie franchises like Sin City and Machete she has no less than three movies set to debut in 2016. What a #boss.
