Privacy Policy

JAWS COMMUNICATIONS, LLC (“JAWS”) has adopted a privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) which describes the type of information we collect and how such information is used in connection with our web site “llero.net” (“Web Site”) and our `LLERO newsletter (“Newsletter”).

When we collect information & What information do we collect?

JAWS generally collects information from you when you subscribe to our Newsletter, register on our Web Site, respond to a survey or fill out a form. When ordering or registering on our Web Site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter information, including, but not limited to, your name, e-mail address and zip code. You may, however, visit our Web Site without submitting such information.

What do we use your information for?

Any of the information JAWS collects from you may be used in any of the following ways:

  • To personalize your experience (your information helps us to better respond to your individual needs);
  • To improve our Web Site (JAWS continually strives to improve the Web Site offerings based on the information and feedback we receive from you);

How do we protect your information?

JAWS implements a variety of reasonable administrative, technical, personnel and physical security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you enter, submit, or access your personal information.

Notwithstanding these security measures, please be aware that when you submit personal information to the Web Site over the Internet, the information may travel over many systems that are not under our control and may not be secure. Anyone who has access to your password will have access to your personal information. Do we use cookies?

Yes. “Cookies” are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer’s hard drive through your web browser (if you allow) that enables the sites or service providers systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information.

JAWS uses cookies to keep track of advertisements and compile aggregate data about Web Site traffic and Web Site interaction so that JAWS can offer better Web Site experiences and tools in the future. JAWS may contract with third-party service providers to assist in better understanding our Web Site visitors. These service providers are not permitted to use the information collected on our behalf except to help us conduct and improve our business.

If you prefer, you can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies via your browser settings. Like most websites, if you turn your cookies off, some of our services may not function properly. However, you can still place orders by contacting customer service.

Third party advertisements displayed on the Newsletter and/or Web Site may also contain cookies set by Internet advertising companies or advertisers. JAWS does not control these cookies. You should check the privacy policy of the Internet advertising company or advertiser to see whether and how it uses cookies.

Google, as a third party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on our Web Site. Google’s use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads to our users based on their visit to our Web Site and other sites on the Internet. Users may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google ad and content network privacy policy.

Do we use Web beacons?

Yes. “Web beacons” are electronic images – sometimes called single-pixel gifs – that may be used to assist in delivering or accessing cookies on our Newsletter and/or Web site and allow us to count users who have visited those pages and to deliver certain services. We may include Web beacons in promotional e-mail messages or our newsletters in order to determine whether messages have been opened and acted upon.

We may also employ Web beacons from third parties in order to help us compile aggregated statistics and determine the effectiveness of our promotional campaigns. We prohibit Web beacons on our sites from being used by third parties to collect or access your personal information.

Do we disclose any information to outside parties?

JAWS does not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our Web Site, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. JAWS may also release your information when release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our Web Site policies, or protect ours or others rights, property, or safety. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses. In addition, if JAWS sells all or part of its business or makes a sale or transfer of JAWS’ assets or is otherwise involved in a merger or reorganization JAWS may transfer your personal information as a part of that transfer.

Occasionally, at our discretion, JAWS may include or offer third party products or services on our Web Site. These third party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. JAWS therefore has no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, JAWS seeks to protect the integrity of the Web Site and welcomes any feedback about these sites.

California Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

Because JAWS values your privacy we have taken the necessary precautions to be in compliance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act. JAWS therefore will not distribute your personal information to outside parties without your consent.

As part of the California Online Privacy Protection Act, all users of our Web Site may make any changes to their information at anytime by logging into the Web Site and going to the ‘Edit Profile’ page.

Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

JAWS is in compliance with the requirements of COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act), JAWS does not knowingly collect any information from anyone under 13 years of age. Our Web Site, products and services are all directed to people who are at least 13 years old or older.

This online Privacy Policy applies only to information collected through our Web Site and not to information collected offline.
