Director James Gunn along with stars David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan dropped a peak at new footage of Superman at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.
The latest incarnation of Superman, will be the newly formed DC Studios’ first feature film to hit the big screen. DC Studios heads Peter Safran and Gunn are producing the film. James Gunn directs from his own screenplay, based on characters from DC, Superman created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.
The first trailer dropped earlier this year and teased certain characters and storyline. This latest footage focuses on Kal-El and the Man of Steel’s best friend Kypto. It opens with our hero injured and Krypto coming to his rescue. Supe’s is brought back to the Fortress of Solitude where a new take on the Sun serving as his healer is demonstrated. All in signature Gunn like style of course.
A lot is riding on this film. As Superman will launch the movie part of DC Studios’ Gods and Monsters: Part 1. In other words, it’s the jump off for the rest of the DCU – Batman, Green Lantern, etc.
Superman will be in theaters and IMAX nationwide on July 11, 2025. Until then check out the new footage here.
