On Saturday June 10th, UFC 264 goes down in Las Vegas.  The main event features the rubber match between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor.  With Poirier victorious in their last bout and McGregor scoring a knockout in their first meet up, this third bout is an interesting one. As it determines who gets bragging rights to the trilogy.

After two bouts these two know each other pretty well.  But much has changed competitively between McGregor and Poirier.

In their first bout, Poirier admitted that McGregor got to him mentally and psyched him out. The result was  a first round TKO victory for McGregor at UFC 178. However, subsequent to their first meeting Poirier fought an additional 13 times—winning 10 of them and improved tremendously as a fighter. All which was on display in the January rematch.  A bout that saw McGregor start strong, but fade as Poirier inflict significant damage with powerful kicks to McGregor’s calves and scoring a second round TKO victory over the Notorious One.

McGregor is known for bouncing back after defeats. He’s claiming he will do so in this outing.  Poirier has other things in mind. Guess we will have to wait until Saturday night to find out.

UFC 264 will be broadcast live by ESPN+ at 9 p.m. ET on Saturday, July 10. Until then check out the trailer here.
