Colombia was without its star player James Rodriguez for its match against England and for the majority of the game it didn’t seem to matter. All tied 1-1 at the end of regulation and extra time, the game’s fate was determined by penalties. Not England’s strong suit, yet this time unlike so many times in the past they would prevail. Thanks in part to Eric Dier’s penalty kick deflecting off the Colombia goalkeeper before rolling into the left corner of the net. The goal meant England advances. It’s first quarterfinals in over 10 years. Check out the action here.
