Although she’s just over thirty, don’t sleep, America Ferrera is a Hollywood veteran. She first came to our attention in 2002 in the film Real Women Have Curves and it’s been non-stop ever since. Her subsequent film work in movies such as Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Chavez and End of Watch would put on display the range this actress is capable of. But it was nothing compared to her television work, as the titular hero in Ugly Betty she broke through to mainstream, the show ran on ABC from 2006 to 2010, several accolades and awards later she made a triumphant return to television in 2015-2016 with her new NBC hit Superstore.
In 2016 Ferrera also took a trip to Waukegan, Illinois, where she investigated a controversial coal plant in a largely Latino and Black area, and the negative impacts it's having on people's health and the town's economy for the season finale of the National Geographic Channel's documentary series Years of Living Dangerously. Puts whole new meaning behind "walk it, like you talk it."
