Dorismar follows in the footsteps of political firebrand Evita and soccer legend Diego “10” Maradona, Dorismar’s stunning beauty has made her Argentina’s most recently recognizable one-named wonder.

She’s best known to Americans as a past Playboy Playmate appearing on the publication’s American edition in 2003 and the Mexican edition in 2007. Her 5’10” frame has continued to grace the pages of numerous Latin American and U.S. magazine covers. Capitalizing on her pinup girl looks, she wasted no time putting out her own line of calendars and DVDs.

The statuesque model/singer/actress, who was born Dora Noemi Kerchen, rose to fame as the hostess of Univision’s dance show Caliente. But her career began in her native Argentina acting on a local children’s variety show and then as a teenager on the television show La Nena. She has cut her acting chops in novellas and television shows alike, appearing in 10 different telenovelas as well as being a regular guest on the talk show, El Gordo y La Flaca.

Dorismar is certainly no one-trick pony. Aside from her stunning looks, she has performed with Mexican acts like Tucanes de Tijuana and recorded her own album of regional Mexican music (which can be found on her website Dorismar.tv). She’s also taken all of her acting experience and appeared in an independent feature-length film. Her motivation is to see her career steadily grow: “I like to see things happen step by step,” she said on her website.

Whether it’s appearing scantily clad for an animal rights campaign or tussling with U.S. immigration, controversy seems to follow the Buenos Aires native everywhere. Despite having found success in the United States—she lived in Miami for six years—she was deported in 2006 when her undocumented status was discovered. Despite fighting the case and having celebrity support, El General, the Panamanian reggae singer sponsored her visa, she hasn’t returned to American soil.

But Dorismar’s career and success continues abroad. Working overtime, she is a regular on a television sketch comedy show and the telenovela Triunfo del Amor. With her work ethic and disarming charm, Dorismar is sure to be stateside sooner than later.
