Another edition of New York Comic-Con is in the books. This year’s gathering of production studios, networks, publishing houses, artists and above all fans gathered to show and see the latest and greatest. It did not disappoint. ‘LLERO had boots on the ground at Jacob Javits Center in NYC and curated the highlights. Check ‘em out here.

Pacific Rim: Uprising

One of the marquee events of this year was the debut of the trailer for the sequel to Pacific Rim, Pacific Rim: Uprising, starring John Boyega and Scott Eastwood. The film picks up 10 years after the events of the first film. Stacker Pentecost’s son Jake, reunites with Mako Mori to lead a new generation of Jaeger pilots, including rival Lambert and 15-year-old hacker Amara, against a new Kaiju threat. Universal pulled out all the stops holding its panel for the film at Madison Square Garden where it debuted the trailer. Looks like it will be action packed, and we think Boyega is a good fit, however, without Guillermo Del Toro at the helm or Idris Elba and Charlie Hunnam, this one’s going to have a challenge living up to the first.

La Borinqueña

Perhaps one of the more touching installations at this year’s event, was that hosted by creator of La Borinqueña, Edgardo Miranda- Rodriguez, who kicked off New York Comic Con with an art exhibition featuring more than 30 La Borinqueña fine art prints for sale, and give 100% of the proceeds to hurricane relief in Puerto Rico.
