Fueling the aspirations of young Puerto Rican students, the National Puerto Rican Day Parade (NPRDP) is once again calling for exceptional learners to apply to its 2025 National Scholarship Program.

For the eighth year in a row, the NPRDP is demonstrating its unwavering commitment towards the academic future of Puerto Rican students across the nation. A total of 100 scholarships, each valued at $2,000, are up for grabs, amounting to a grand total of $200,000. The program is open to high school seniors and full-time undergraduates in their first three years of college, who have marked their presence in their community in a positive way.

Jason Macias, Chair of the NPRDP Education Committee, voiced his pride in supporting the educational growth of the community, stating, “Since 2014, we have been privileged to award over $1.8 million in scholarships. Our gratitude extends to the many companies, organizations, and individuals that support the parade, making these scholarships a reality.”

What Does It Take to Qualify?

Eligibility requirements include being of Puerto Rican ancestry, boasting a GPA of 3.0 or higher, demonstrating a history of volunteerism and community service, and being willing to partake in an interview with a member of the scholarship committee. Previous scholarship winners can renew their chances provided they still meet all eligibility terms.

How to Apply for the National Puerto Rican Day Parade Scholarship?

All applications must be submitted online via the Parade’s official website, www.nprdpinc.org, on or before March 14, 2024. Late submissions face automatic disqualification.
