We all experience low moments in life where our confidence takes a hit. During those moments, it feels like life’s getting the best of us, rather than us getting the best life.  It’s in the latter position that we want to be in. When we’re there, we can go out into the world with swagger, we make our dreams come true, and all around live our best life.

So if you feel you’ve been hiding from the world a little too much recently. Perhaps it’s time to re-engage. The good news is that you can get back on track in as little as a month. But it will take little bit of work, perseverance and grit. It might not be the most fun month of your life, but it’ll push you forward, and you’ll be putting yourself in a position where you can really hit new heights of happiness and confidence.

Start With Attitude

As we said above: your self-improvement month is unlikely to be the most fun you’ve ever had. But that doesn’t mean that it has to be awful. It’ll just be a different kind of enjoyable experience. You’ll be digging deep and making positive changes to various aspects of your life. That’s something you should be truly excited about. So make sure that you start with the right attitude. Approach it with enthusiasm — while it might not feel like it right now, you’re about to embark on a journey that could be life-changing.

Commit to the Gym

This is usually the part of the self-improvement process that people are least looking forward to. If you’ve never been to the gym before. Well, then it can be a little intimidating to commit to going multiple times a week. But remember that you don’t need to move mountains on the very first day. In fact, you don’t really need to do anything other than show up. Over time, you’ll slowly figure out what you’re supposed to be doing. If you’re completely lost or want to speed up the process, then consider working with a personal trainer. Within a month, you’ll look and feel much better than when you started, and you’ll certainly have more confidence.

Upgrade Your Appearance

A self-improvement month is a great opportunity to nudge your appearance in the right direction. If you do, you’ll almost inevitably find that you develop greater confidence. After all, there’s a lot of magic in looking your best! There are multiple ways to elevate your appearance. You could hit the stores and buy some nice, new clothes. Perhaps visit this barber shop and get a fresh haircut. As well as investing in your clothing and hair, also look at elevating your grooming routine. Adding some skincare products and cologne will have you feeling fresh and on top of the world.

Set a Challenge

We get confidence when we understand that we’re capable individuals who can do anything they stick their minds to – and succeed at it. It’s just that we don’t have that many opportunities to do that once we’re in the full swing of life. The solution? Manufacture a challenge for yourself. There are plenty of things you can do. You might decide to start every morning with a 5k run. Or you might commit to taking cold showers every day for thirty days. You may give up drinking or smoking. Basically, there are a million things you can do.  Of you’re really looking to improve yourself, then you could consider doing two or more challenges at the same time. Remember: you get out what you put in! Trust us on this one many of the GOATS in their industries consistently manufactured challenges to elevate their game. For example, Michael Jordan, who famously left basketball at the height of his career to play baseball.

Now you don’t have to go that big. But if you don’t know what to do, then start with your weak points. What’s your current weakness, and how can you turn overcoming it into a challenge?

Develop a Positive Mindset

This one is also of critical importance. You are what you say to yourself. If you’re speaking positively, then you’ll find it much, much easier to be confident. Rather than telling yourself “You can’t do this,” you’ll be saying to yourself “You can do this.” And that’s a pretty profound shift that can infiltrate all aspects of your life. Of course, developing a positive mindset is easier said than done. Ot might come on its own, but it’s best to nurture it. Look at starting affirmations or doing a daily gratitude/positivity meditation. Within a couple of weeks, you’ll notice a difference.  Whether or not the iconic Bruce Lee uttered this quote has not been confirmed. However, one cannot deny the impact of the quote attributed to him where he says:

“Don’t speak negatively about yourself, even as a joke. Your body doesn’t know the difference. Words are energy and cast spells, that’s why it’s called spelling. Change the way you speak about yourself and you can change your life. What you’re not changing, you’re also choosing.”

The quote does seem to be packed with inherent wisdom.

Trust the Process

Finally, trust the process. Doing all of these things can be tough, and you won’t see the results overnight. But if you commit to doing them for a month or so, you really will notice a marked improvement from where you started.
