The first trailer for Inmate #1 The Rise of Danny Trejo dropped this week. It feels like a lifetime since we’ve been waiting for a look at this film. The documentary chronicles the life and times of Hollywood veteran actor Danny Trejo. From his early adolescence to turbulent teen years, evolution to Hollywood character actor and leading man.
The title is a play on words. Given that in his early Hollywood days Trejo was pigeonholed into roles of inmate, cholo, gangster, etc. A plight known by many an actor of color. The documentary directed by Brett Harvey, also includes testimonials from various friends and colleagues inside and out of Hollywood. Check out the trailer below.
