HBO dropped the full trailer for its upcoming documentary on Argentine soccer legend Diego Maradona. Fans and film lovers alike can view the documentary in theaters for a limited run beginning September 20th. Starting October 1st HBO will air the film.
Directed by Academy Award-winner Asif Kapadia, whose prior works include Senna and Amy (the film chronicling the life of the late singer and songwriter Amy Winehouse). According to HBO, the film focuses upon the time Diego Maradona spent with Napoli. Leading it to its first championship. Its said to include over 500 hours of never-before-seen footage from Maradona’s personal archives. As well as decades-old news footage and interviews with historians and journalists.
