For those ‘LLERO’s that favor the alternative Latin music scene. Your going to want to make your way to New York City in July. The Latin Alternative Music Conference turns 20 this year. Founded by Thomas Cookman, LAMC is one of the only events of its kind – catering exclusively to Latin Alternative music. LAMC is rolling out all the stops to make sure it turns 20 the proper way. LAMC recently announced the line up for its festival show and a number of panels taking place during the conference.

The Performances

This year’s LAMC at BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival show, is set to take place on Friday, July 12th. The festival will feature performances from Latin GRAMMY-winning and Emmy-nominated Guatemalan chanteuse Gaby Moreno. LAMC promises Moreno will take the stage joined by special surprise guests.  Formed around the talents of the Navejas brothers, Mexico City-based retro-rockers Enjambre continue their global tour with this LAMC stop in Brooklyn, as they prepare to play Mexico’s Palacio de los Deportes. Mexican singer/songwriter El David Aguilar was one of the 2018 Latin GRAMMY’s most-nominated artists, with five nominations including song of the year and album of the year.

The Panels

LAMC will also feature panelists from peermusic, who will present a session providing an overview of how music is selected for television shows and film. Symphonic Distribution will present a panel entitled “From Dive Bars to Superstars: Latin Music on the Road. The Orchard is overseeing a panel on music analytics, entitle “Analytics & You: Music Strategies for Success in the Playlist Age” and City National will present a panel addressing the old adage of the starving artist in their panel How to Make Money and Keep It: Latin Artist Finances.
