This years Super Bowl delivered more than just a great game and half time show. As has become a traditional part of the festivities new movie trailers premiered and they did not disappoint. Marvel Studios joined the party with its debut of the official trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Directed by Sam Raimi, Benedict Cumberbatch returns as Doctor Stephen Strange. In this outing he’s joined by Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and there are going to be multiple versions of these characters from the multiverse.
The sequel finds Doctor Strange using his magic to manipulate time and space at will with a forbidden spell that has opened the door to a mysterious madness called ‘the Multiverse.’ In order to restore a world where everything is changing, Strange seeks help from his ally Wong (Benedict Wong), the Sorcerer Supreme, and Scarlet Witch. Also joining the cast is Xochitl Gomez who inhabits the role of America Chavez.
The trailer is packed with tons of new footage and the special effects look spectacular. If the tease is any indication, looks like the MCU will continue it’s winning ways. The film opens on May 6th. Until then check out the trailer here.
