Today Rosalía dropped a new video for her single ‘Juro Que’. The song and video are clearly a return to her Flamenco roots. While her first two albums relied upon Flamenco as her foundation, the artist also fused elements of reggaeton, hip hop and pop urbano. Hit tracks such as ‘Con Altura’ with J. Balvin and ‘Yo x Ti, Tu x Mi’ with Ozuna being clear and successful examples.

However, ‘Juro Que’ is all flamenco and a showcase for her vocals. It tells the story of a woman who’s man is locked up, and she’s either waiting impatiently for him to get out or she’s going to rob a damn bank to get locked up with him. Now that’s ride or die, no?

The video, directed by Tanu Muino, co-stars Spanish actor Omar Ayuso (of the Netflix series Elite), who plays her imprisoned boyfriend.

Rosalía is nominated for two awards at the 2020 Grammys.  She’s up for Best New Artist and Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album and will also be performing. Let’s hope this track makes the performance. Until then peep the video here.
