Amid all the hype surrounding Spider-Man: No Way Home, Sony is doubling down! In the form of a surprise trailer for the sequel to their Oscar winning animated Spider-Man feature Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The sequel is aptly titled Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
This means Miles Morales and his spider-friends are back and not just for one, but two additional installments. Sony announced that that Spider-Verse follow-up is going to be split into two separate features with a Part One, and a Part Two.
The studio also released an official synopsis for the film.
“Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar®-winning Spider-Verse saga, an epic adventure that will transport Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man across the Multiverse to join forces with Gwen Stacy and a new team of Spider-People to face off with a villain more powerful than anything they have ever encountered.”
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers and Justin K. Thompson, with a tentative release date of October 2022.
