UFC 261 did not disappoint. In a card that saw none of the fights go the distance. The main event a rematch between Kamaru Usman and Jorge Masvidal capped off the night in similar fashion.
Kamaru Usman, the UFC welterweight champion, first met up Jorge Masvidal last year at UFC 251. Much had been made of the bout because Masvidal took it on six days notice. Shockingly, Masvidal held his own and the fight went the distance. So, conventional thinking said with a full training camp Masvidal would put in a better performance if not get a victory.
However, this was not to be. Unlike the plodding decision victory Usman labored for last year. The rematch saw Usman deliver a stunning KO in the second round. The punch, a hard right set up by a jab dropped Masvidal instantly.
