Gervonta Davis showed the world why they call him “Tank” Davis. Davis and Leo Santa Cruz faced off at the Alamo Dome in Texas in a title unification bout. Now, pre-fight many had the combatants on equal footing.

It was a close fight through four. However, at that point Davis began to assert himself, landing the first effective uppercut of the evening which seemed to shift momentum. Davis completed the shift in round six when he landed the same uppercut once more. This one put Santa Cruz on the floor and out like a light. It was a picture perfect punch demonstrating the often talked about power of Gervonta Davis.

Davis, promoted by Floyd Mayweather, has been billed for some time as one of boxing’s next stars. This candidate for Knockout of the Year certainly lives up to that billing.
