The first trailer for Mortal Kombat dropped today. It came in red-band form and is filled with action to spare, video game call outs (Get over Here!!!) and a first real life look at fan favorite characters.
The film is produced by James Wan of Aquaman fame. This is key because from the looks of the trailer you’ve got that same over the top asthetic and action, that, well….seems to work. The trailer gives us a look at Mortal Kombat favorites Sub Zero, Sonya Blade, Liu Kang and Major Jackson ‘Jax’ Briggs.
Mortal Kombat will be released both in theaters and on HBOMax on April 16th. Until then check out the trailer here.
