In the first of no less than three major soccer finals today, the U.S. Women’s Soccer team defeated the Netherlands tby a score of 2-0. The victory gave Team USA its second World Cup title in a row and fourth total. It took an hour of game play before co-captain Megan Rapinoe broke the scoreless tie for the U.S. on a penalty kick. Rose Lavelle scored goal number two to seal the deal for Team USA. Of the victory Rapinoe told reporters “It’s surreal. I don’t know how to feel like now. It’s ridiculous…We’re crazy and that’s what makes us so special. We just have no quit in us. We’re so tight, and we’ll do anything to win.” A mind set that seems to pay off in spades. Check out the highlights here.
