Amid all the shopping frenzy of Black Friday and Cyber Monday lets not forget about GivingTuesday. Not sure what that is? Thanks to social media, a day of kindness has grown into “a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people + organizations to transform their communities + their world.” In other words, it’s a day when everyone is encouraged to be generous with their money, time and talents. Here’s a few of our favorite charities that positively impact Latinos–and the world–that could benefit from your support this GivingTuesday.

Together We Rise

Danny Mendoza started this nonprofit in 2009 to help children experience foster care in a positive way after learning his cousin had been put in the system. Its mission is to improve the foster care experience for children by providing sweet cases (instead of trash bags) to hold their belongings, bicycles, school supplies and even scholarships.

The Movember Foundation

Hispanic Scholarship Fund

Finding money for college as prices continue to rise is a daunting task. The Hispanic Scholarship Fund has been awarding funds and support services to college-bound Latinos since 1975. To date they have given out $588 million in scholarships to students, families and HSF alumni.

Every kid deserves the chance to play a sport. That’s what led Nicole Fernandez to start the Game Time Foundation in Colombia in 2014. Her nonprofit provides sports equipment and valuable life lessons about everything from sportsmanship to discipline.

If none of the above charities catch your eye, HIP Give offers you the opportunity to match your passion with your wallet. It might be supporting Venezuelan refugees or providing education resources for Dreamers. Or maybe you want to raise money for your own charitable project. HIP Give is “the first and only bilingual crowdfunding platform focused solely on advancing Latino social impact projects and promoting philanthropy across the Americas. On HIPGive you can support a social project or start your own.”
