Alessia Cara joins the reverse crossover movement. She’s going big, in a duet with heavyweight talent Juanes. The two collaborate on the track entitled “Querer Mejor”. The track is set to appear on Juanes forthcoming album. On listening you note it’s got a laid back vibe allowing Cara to demonstrate her vocals, showing she does not miss a beat even in Spanish.
The song is about a couple in love and encouraged to love more no matter the circumstances. It’s Cara’s first Spanish language track, in a statement to PopSugar she said “I’ve always loved Latin music, so getting to dabble in that realm with such a legend is pretty amazing . . . and getting his stamp of approval on my Spanish pronunciation wasn’t so bad either.”
The video directed by Aarona is also a nice departure from slicked out bling that is the norm these days. The visuals are grounded, earthy and simply let these two do their thing. Check out the video here.
