Before the world knew of the Broadway musicals In The Heights and Hamilton, Lin-Manuel Miranda was part of a hip-hop improv group called Freestyle Love Supreme. From tiny shows at the NuyoRican Poets Cafe and dropping lyrics on street corners to Broadway. This film chronicles the group’s 15-year journey and backstory.
