Paramount Pictures dropped a new trailer for Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins. By the looks of it, we will be getting a deep dive into the mysterious ninja’s back story.
The film stars Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians) in the titular role. According to the studio the story centers around “an ancient Japanese clan called the Arashikage as they welcome tenacious loner Snake Eyes after he saves the life of their heir apparent. Upon arrival in Japan, the Arashikage teach him the ways of the ninja warrior while also providing him something he’s been longing for: a home. However, when secrets from his past are revealed, his honor and allegiance get tested — even if that means losing the trust of those closest to him.”
Aside from a look at the origins of the G.I. Joe mainstay, it looks like we will be getting some really cool action sequences akin to we’ve seen in The Matrix films and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Seems like the studio has really put thought into delivering a film that will satisfy hardcore fanboys of the character.
Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins opens in July 23, 2021. Until then check out the latest trailer here.
