NBA 2K21 revealed its final cover athletes today. While Damian Lillard and Zion Williamson were named. Kobe Bryant is honored in what is simply called the Mamba Forever Edition.
The cover of the current game iteration features artwork of Bryant from his 81-point performance back in 2006, wearing No. 8. The cover of the next gen game features artwork of Bryant a decade later, when he scored 60 points in the final game of his career. This time donning the No. 24.
Of note, are the striking paintings of Bryant which serve as the cover artwork. NBA 2K21 created a time lapse video showing behind the scenes look at the renderings. Check it out here. The Mamba Forever Edition launches worldwide on September 4th.
