On July 28th in a card at the Staples Center Mikey Garcia took one another step towards boxing dominance by defeating Robert Easter Jr. in a unanimous decision. Garcia was able to nullify Easter’s height and reach advantage, even managing to knock him down in the third round. The victory helped him unify two of the lightweight titles, but also puts him on track for a showdown with Errol Spence Jr.
