4. Dr. Dre, Snoop Dog, Mary J. Blige, Eminem & 50 Cent

In a long awaited return of the Big Game to Los Angeles, musically the Half Time show hit it’s mark. Recruiting LA native sons Dr. Dre and Snoop Dog who have become not only emblematic of hip hop but of Los Angeles and California. The two went through their famous catalogue hits in including California Love, Ain’t Nothing But a G Thang. They also recruited friends in the form of Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent, Eminem and others.  After years of catering to older generations with acts such as The Who and Paul McCartney or younger generations with Britney and NSync, it marked the first time Gen X was front and center musically.
