It was the main event of DC FanDome. The Batman Panel. They saved the best for last. Director Matt Reeves joined host Aisha Tyler to discuss the latest addition to the Batman canon.
Reeves revealed The Batman takes place in year two of the Caped Crusader’s detective/vigilante career. We also learned it leans heavily into the Dark Knight’s detective skills. Reeves indicated the film is inspired by the detective/cop films of the 70’s, a noir and layered take that reveals the depths of corruption in Gotham.
The director also shared that the film is only 25% complete. But he knew not come to DC FanDome empty handed. So he brought a teaser. The Batman opens in 2021. Until then enjoy this preview.
