Miles Morales is back! Sony Pictures released the first full trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The sequel to the 2018 hit film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. In this outing our favorite Brooklyn web slinger, Miles Morales re-teams with his Spider-Man counterparts across the multi-verse.
Sony Pictures released a summary of the film to accompany the trailer:
“After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.”
The trailer looks amazing (no pun intended), full of color, characters, wit and charm. If it’s any indication of the overall film, it looks like Sony has another hit on their hands.
Directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse also includes a star studded cast, including Shameik Moore as Miles; Oscar Isaac as Miguel O’Hara, aka Spider-Man 2099; Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen, Brian Tyree Henry as Miles’ dad Jefferson Davis; Luna Lauren Velez as Miles’ mom Rio Morales; Issa Rae as Jessica Drew, aka Spider-Woman; Jorma Taccone as Vulture; Jason Schwartzman as Spot; and Academy Award Winner Daniel Kaluuya as Hobart “Hobie” Brown, a.k.a. Spider-Punk.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse opens June 2, 2023. Until then check out the trailer here.
