Comedy To Watch in 2016

latino-comedy

If you want to get a good LOL one of the best places to find it these days is online. We’ve seen enough “Funny or Die” videos, YouTube and Vine stars, not to mention news bloopers to know what’s good comedy and what’s not. We’ve put together a short list of some of our favorite Latino comedians who know not only “get” just how ridiculous and funny our cultura (and gente) can be but who keep us ROFL’ing as a result.

Room 28

This sketch comedy troupe Room 28 has been making viral videos and performing throughout New York City for years to lots of local love. Now they’re playing with the big boys of improv thanks to a deal with Saturday Night Live alumn Horatio Sanz and his comedy online comedy incubator Mas Mejor.

Vladimir Caamano

Although he appears soft spoken and calm, Laughing Vlad’s tales of immigrant parents and dissection of urban speak have caught everyone’s attention. He recently signed a development deal with NBC to create the show Vlad, a comedy about a Dominican family from the Bronx. Needless to say it’s a pretty big deal to go from stand-up to prime time player.

LeJuan James

The Dominican and Puerto Rican ‘LLERO from Florida has over 1 million likes and thousands of followers on social media who love his crazy antics. He’s “representing Hispanics worldwide” and has a penchant for capturing screaming mamis, chancletasos and everything in between.

La Flama

Yes, we know it’s a website that hosts a hodgepodge of Latino-centric content. But they truly have some of the funniest videos out there about la culture, women and even your punctuality problem. It’s what keeps us sharing these clips on our Facebook walls.
