On Friday morning thousands lined up at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City to get a look at the latest and greatest offerings from car manufacturers around the world. ‘LLERO made its annual pilgrimage to the convention center to scope out some of the most eye-catching models that had everyone snapping selfies. We can definitely say that the concept car and bright colors are still en vogue, but super-cars and nostalgia are making a comeback. Toyota FCV Plus
This Jetson like whip, is one of several of Toyota’s Hydrogen (H2) car offerings. This H2 concept car puts the driver in its own little blue carriage. It seats four, has four in-wheel motors, a fuel cell stack up front with a hydrogen tank behind the rear seats. Jane get me off this crazy thing….
Toyota Mirai
The second of Toyota’s H2 offerings taps into a bit of nostalgia in the form of the Back to the Future films. Toyota enlisted MV Designz to turn the already futuristic Mirai to resemble in part the iconic DeLorean time machine from the movies.
It tricked out the doors to make them swing upward…
Added a Mr. Fusion food/energy/hydrogen processor in the trunk…

There is even a California “Outatime” license plate.
Spyker C8 Preliator
In high performance sports car arena, Spyker had everyone gathered around their showcase area. Why? The C8 Preliator, which is the Dutch automaker’s first offering since 2009. The 525-HP super car had tongues wagging. We were really just waiting for James Bond to show up and drive off in it.
Koenigsegg Regera
Also in the super-car department is the Koenigsegg Regera “hypercar”, the first time the car company has shown the $2 million dollar super-car ever in the United States. The Swedish company is billing this futuristic coupe as the ultimate “Bugatti killer.” If you think its just another pretty face, think again, according to company founder company founder Christian von Koenigsegg it can reach 200 miles per hour in 0.6 miles. Yeah, that’s fast.
Bentley EXP 9F
Bentley has officially entered the world of the luxury cross-over with it EXP 9F. The EXP designation has been used by Bentley for experimental prototypes since 1919, the company said in a press release, “and is meant to stand for ground-breaking innovation.” So what does the EXP 9F have to offer? All-wheel drive, a 6-liter W-12 gasoline engine, an 8-speed automatic transmission and 23-inch alloy wheels.
Lincoln Navigator SUV Concept
The Navigator Concept was the “must see” vehicle of the show? With hundreds clamoring for a look. A sight to behold, the vehicle’s two huge gull wing doors opened to reveal an interior with horizontally ribbed seats, a flat, retro center console and a “piano-key” shifter.
LC 500h
The LC 500 Hybrid was revealed in March at the Geneva Motor Show, but the New York Auto Show marks the LC 500h’s North American debut. The 500h features ‘M’ Mode which is the first driver-initiated gear shifts offered on a Lexus full hybrid powertrain – in plain English, it lets drivers initiate direct and responsive gear shifts for the most sporting drive.
77 Bandit Edition Trans Am
Inspired by the classic chase movie Smokey and the Bandit, the Trans Am Worldwide shop has built a 77 Bandit Edition Trans Am with the blessing of The Bandit, aka actor Burt Reynolds. The revamped muscle car packs a walloping 840 horsepower engine, is detailed with the same fire breathing hawk on the hood and even has detailed seats with the Bandit silhouette.
ETV Space Car
In the vintage/mod/future department this year’s show did not disappoint. The ETV Space Car made by a Florida car enthusiast, not a car company. It has a four-cylinder engine and a three-speed automatic transmission. So while its all future on the outside, the inside is still very much in the present.
