What Sets Latino Men Apart

The Latin Lover may be a stereotype but Latino men do drive women wild. Perhaps it’s their passionate and intense nature, a trait that exists even if they work on Wall Street. Or maybe it’s that “there’s more than meets the eye” persona?

Latino men, I’m here to let you in on a secret. Take notes, and if you’re missing one of these items add it to your game. Here are the top 5 reasons why women flock to the Juan’s and Jose’s of the world!

5. Sensitive Machos

My father was the typical sensitive macho. He’d holler at my mother to get him a fork (cause he couldn’t walk on his two good legs), but he’d cry at a wedding. Francellis Quiñones, a 34-year-old Boston teacher, appreciates these seemingly contradictory qualities admitting that she loves how Latinos successfully navigate between macho and progressively sensitive. “Even when they yell, ‘Get me a Corona bien fria, mujer!’”

4. They’re hard working and family oriented

Latino immigrants come to America to work hard and help their families. My father and uncles did so; it’s instilled in our culture. Alexandra Morbitzer, a 24-year-old social media consultant from Ohio who now resides in New York City, has experienced this with her Latino boyfriend.

“It’s a very big priority [for him] to take care of his mother — helping her with rent, replacing whatever breaks,” she says. How does his generosity affect their relationship? “He is protective of me and likes to take care of me,”

Morbitzer gushes.

3. “You Are My Mujer”

A Latino man may commit faster than you can say, “Mira muchaho!” My last three relationships were with Latino men; three dates in, I was a novia. Ilse Giselle, a 25-year-old fashion blogger from Los Angeles, has never dated a Latino man, but hopes to for this very reason. “I wish the non-Latinos I’ve dated would commit to relationships as fast as Latinos do,” Giselle says.

2. The Language of Love

The Spanish language is as romantic as an airport scene from a romantic comedy, especially when coming from Latino lips. In Jessica Galán’s case, her Latino fling often expressed himself in Spanish. “Eres heremosa…eres divina…’ it was so wonderful to hear,” recalls the 35-year-old freelance writer from Fairfield, CT. Guys, you may think it’s sappy, but it works and it’s the reason why many non-Latinas adore Latino men.

Elise Englander, a 23-year-old social media coordinator from Queens, loves the Latino charm and sweet talk. She admits to dating mostly Latinos, even though she’s all Jewish. “They make everything sound so sensual,” she muses. “The way they add in the compliments at just the right times…”

1. Tons of Affection and Te Adoro’s

Latino men are an affectionate bunch, relishing in the sense of touch. And women love it. As Galán recounts, her Latino amante wasn’t afraid to be sexy and loving in public. Her recent experience included lots of PDA.

“He’d reach over a tiny table to grasp my inner-wrist and say, ‘You look beautiful tonight.’”

As their romance continued, her Latino man wasn’t afraid to reach out and touch her. “We’d be locked in a French kiss, without regard to who was looking.” It’s no wonder why women find Latino men so attractive. Not only do they have an unmatched passion, but they are also generous and hardworking. What a great recipe for love.
