12 Colombianas All Men Can Be Thankful For

She’s traditional. She’s warm and inviting, yet does not suffer fools. One of a kind – she’s a Colombiana!!! With Colombian Independence Day just around the corner, we chose to make our own declaration. To some of the most crush worthy Latinas hailing from the Republic of Gran Colombia.

Daniela Lopez

Ms. Lopez arrived on the scene in 2014 after walking the runway of the Lolli Swim Miami. A little reggaeton shake to the runway music went viral and spawned thousands of GIF’s, YouTube views and created a social media profile that could not be ignored. It’s been a whirlwind ever since, gracing the pages of high fashion magazines such as Vogue and Elle, as well as laddie mags such as Maxim and Sports Illustrated. While her modeling career is still blossoming, you can tell there is a forward thinking mentality present that will serve her well, as she told the New York Post “I’m not just a butt! I have more to offer,” she says. “The body parts, they get ugly [with age]. The personality doesn’t change.” Yes, we can definitely get behind that! No pun intended.

Elizabeth Loaiza

Those stateside may not be familiar with Elizabeth Loaiza. Hailing from Cali, this Latina has graced the pages of many a magazine in Latin America. A model since the age of four, she won Ms. World in 2006. A few reality show and hosting jobs have followed, but U.S. success has eluded her thus far, but were fine with keeping her all to ourselves!!!

Esperanza Gomez

Don’t act like you don’t know who she is. Born in Caldas, this hottie burst on to the blue movie scene in 2009 and the Internet hasn’t been the same since. She oozes sex appeal and has risen to A-List ranks of the adult world. If you don’t know what we mean, just Google her name – only don’t do it at work. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!!!

Por irme a descansar, buenas noches 🙂

Adriana Arboleda

Adriana Arboleda hails from Cali and is a model that has appeared on the covers Vanity Fair and Cosmopolitan, even going so far as to win “Look of the Year.” Yet, she’s more than just a pretty face, having made appearances on local television and a role Colombia’s highest rated novella Yo Soy Betty, La Fea.

Jeymmy Vargas

Jeymmy Paola Vargas Gómez is a Colombian beauty queen, actress and model. Her breakout came when she won Reina Internacional del Café 2004. Subsequent to that she went on to win the title of Miss International in 2004, earning the distinction of being only the third contestant from Colombia to do so. While she’s been in the game for over a decade, we certainly welcome more Jeymmy in our lives.

Jery Sandoval

Born in Baranquilla, this model-actress-singer triple threat burst onto the television scene with her role as Maria Reyes on the hit telenovela Los Reyes. She soon took her talent to Mexico where she was the first Colombian actress to star in Mexican television next to Verónica Castro. Yet, as easy on the eyes as Sandoval may be, she’s also easy on the ears. She dropped an album in 2015 called Celos. These days she is finishing her studies at University of Miami, where she’s learning English. Something tell us, Hollywood is in her not too distant future.

Sara Corrales

This actress, model, and dancer is a telenovela vet in Colombia. Most well known for for her appearance on Todos Quieren con Marilyn as Catalina Osorio, a role which won her the TV y Novelas award as Revelation of the Year. This Medellin native has appeared in well over a dozen novelas since 2004 with no signs of slowing down. Yet, she took it to another level when she appeared in SoHo Magazine. How hot was the spread? Lets just say were sure she gained a new legion of fans which have never seen a telenovela in their lives.

Shakira

No list of Colombianas would be complete without the one-named wonder from Baranquilla. Shakira is one of the few can truly call themselves a global superstar. A multiplatinum recording artist (50 million albums sold to date), a social activist, a social media darling (she’s logged 6 billion views on Vevo, 100 million likes on Facebook) and mother of two. There isn’t much she hasn’t accomplished. Yet, after all these years those hips still don’t lie.

Ana Sofia Henao

You may not know her name in the U.S., but trust that every self-respecting man in Latin America knows Ana Sofia Henao. This blonde beauty from Medellin, has modeled for the likes of Skechers, but is probably best known for being the pitch girl for Cervesa Cristal Oro. Oh yeah, she also was voted the most beautiful woman in Colombia in a country-wide survey.

Paola Turbay

Born in Houston, Texas, but raised in Bogota, Paola Turbay has been holding it down in television and film for more than a minute. While she got her start on the beauty pageant circuit, winning Miss Colombia and placing second in the Miss Universe pageant, she successfully made the transition to film and television, with roles in films like Love in the Time of Cholera and television shows like True Blood.

Sofia Vergara

Ms. Vergara is a Latina with whom no list about Colombian women would be complete without. To do so, is just down right disrespectful. She’s a household name, and single handedly responsible for introduction of the Colombian ingénue to U.S. audiences. Hit TV shows, films, commercials, even a clothing line, she’s a long way from those Fuera De Seria days. Talk about living the dream.

Zulay Henao

This Medellín native came to the U.S. at an early age and settled in New Jersey. But before stepping in front of the cameras she did a tour of duty in the U.S. Army. She left military life behind after three years and enrolled at the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts to study acting. The rest as they say is history, appearing in films such as Takers along side Jay Hernandez and Idris Elba, Fighting with Channing Tatum and Tyler Perry’s Single Moms Club. Keep on keeping on Zulay.
