Having made appearances with the likes of Lionel Messi and appeared in commercials for Copa America Centenario, it’s no secret that Kobe Bryant is a huge football/soccer fan. So it should come as no surprise that one of the latest colorways – the Kobe 11 Mambacurial – is a tribute to FC Barcelona.
So what does this colorway for Kobe 11 bring us? For starters, blue and red gradients are intertwined throughout the heel and mid section. The iconic Nike Swoosh making a bright yellow appearance on each side panel. With this color combo, there is no mistaking any member of the European football club could rock this shoe.
This version of the Kobe 11 contains a football-style emblem on the heel featuring five stars as a nod to Bryant’s five championships. Cause it ain’t the Mamba’s shoe without a touch of Kobe. And the whole shoe is pulled together by the gum outsole. Which from our POV is one of the stand-out elements of the shoe. Giving it a clean appearance.
The shoe goes for $200 retail and will drop at a sneaker shop near you on September 8th. That’s not all folks, there is also the Kobe 11 Black Horse colorway which makes its appearance after the jump.
With White Horse and Red Horse colorways already on the market. You knew it was only a matter of time before the Black Mamba had a Black Horse edition of the Kobe 11. This colorway of the Kobe 11 starts with a black pattern at the toe and gradients into red and midsole, followed by olive green at the heel.
As with the Kobe 11 Mambacurial, a full gum outsole surrounds the entire color way, with a few details of its own, with the Kobe logo on the under sole.
The Nike Kobe 11 Black Horse also goes for $200 retail and will drop at a sneaker shops globally on September 17th.
