Some of the Net’s Great Tributes to Muhammad Ali

Muhammad-Ali

The man – Muhammad Ali was undeniably a citizen of the world. With his passing, there has understandably been an outpouring of affection, reflection and praise. Ali was known for having the gift of gab. An uncanny ability to coin an unforgettable phrase. Yet, aside from his iconic phrases, he also left us with many indelible images. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Well here are a few photo tributes we’ve found on the net which we felt were just like the man who they honor – the greatest.

Carmelo Anthony was a long time fan of the champ, right down to the Muhammad Ali tattoo which he wears on his shoulder. Yet, in this time of mourning Melo posted a touching tribute of one aspiring great, seeking inspiration from another.

Michael B. Jordan is no stranger to boxing, coming off a career defining performance in Creed, you just know Jordan took notes on the champ. His reenactment of an iconic Ali photo says it all without having to say anything.

One fan posted photos of when Ali literally took on Superman – and won. You know your big time you’ve crossed over to sharing pages with classic pulp heroes like Superman. Looking back it seems as if the folks at DC Comics wanted the champ on the pages of their comic to give them a little bit swagger.

It doesn’t get anymore authentic than this. Mexican boxing legend Julio Cesar Chavez posted a photo of the two meeting during his fighting days. One boxing icon meets another.

Perhaps one of the most fitting photos. Al Dia News harkened back to the site of one of Ali’s greatest triumphs, but from a birds eye view, with his moniker, which says it all.
