Last night Terence Crawford and Kell Brook faced off in Las Vegas, Nevada with Crawford’s WBO Welterweight Championship on the line. For Crawford, he needed a highlight-reel win in order to line up more lucrative fights in the future. For Brook, a victory would mean redemption and second lease on the life of his boxing career.

In the opening round Terence Crawford and Kell Brook were tentative, showing mutual respect and carefully choosing their spots to engage as they sized one another up.  Brook appeared to get the better of each exchange, working behind an effectively timed jab. Round two showed more of the same, with Brook timing Crawford and countering with his jab. However, in round three Crawford made an adjustment and switched to the southpaw position. The result was to take Brook’s jab away and narrow the distance between the two. In round four, Crawford moved forward with more aggression and closed the gap. The result, he nearly knocked Brook through the ropes with a right hand. The referee allowed the action to continue but Crawford pounced on Brook and effectively closed the show. Stopping Kell Brook in four by TKO.

The biggest question that remains. What’s next for Crawford?  The welterweight division is loaded with talented fighters with marquee value, from Manny Pacquiao, to Errol Spence, Jr., Keith Thurman or Danny Garcia. Until then check out the highlights of last night’s bout here.
