Marvel Studios has dropped the first teaser trailer for its upcoming martial arts action thriller Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

If you are a fan of the martial arts effects of The Matrix films. Loved those Saturday afternoon martial arts flicks shown in syndication. Or got down with the 36 Chambers of Death vibe of Wu-Tang Clan. Then this is just the thing for you.

The Legend of the Ten Rings stars Simi Liu as the titular Shang-Chi. It also stars heavy hitters Awkwafina, Michelle Yeoh and Tony Leung as the Mandarin. The latter of whom summons Shang-Chi back from a life of partying and parking cars to face destiny, which apparently involves all kind of kung fu badassery.

Created by Steve Englehart and artist Jim Starlin in 1973 during America’s ’70s kung fu craze. Originally the son of vintage villain (and racist stereotype) Fu Manchu. In the update Marvel is losing all the stereotypes associated with the culture and character and giving the material the seriousness and authenticity it deserves.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is set for release on September 3rd. Until then check out the trailer here.
