The first look at Jordan Peele’s reboot of Candyman dropped today. It looks to be a fresh contemporary take on the horror classic, mixing the modern day while tapping into the nostalgia of the original. The official summary of the film is:
The Candyman, a murderous soul with a hook for a hand, is accidentally summoned to reality by a skeptic grad student researching the monster’s myth. When Lt. Artemis and her loyal soldiers are transported to a new world, they engage in a desperate battle for survival against enormous enemies with incredible powers.
The reboot is written by Jordan Peele and directed by Nia DeCosta. The film drops June 12, 2020. In the meantime peep the trailer here.
