9 Dominicanas All Men Should Be Thankful For

Clarissa Molina Dominicanas

While there are a great many things to have come out of the Dominican Republic – it’s music, its food, strong cultural identity and sports icons – there is also one undeniable fact about the D.R., it is home to some the most sultry dominicanas in the world. Given that the Dominican Independence Day will shortly be upon us, we thought now was an ideal time to get to know a few dominicanas that all men can be thankful for.

Clarissa Molina

Born in Santiago de los Cabelleros, D.R. (yeah were already fans with a birthplace name Caballero), this beauty got her start as a contestant on Nuestra Belleza Latina’s 2015 competition. Needless to say that was just the beginning, as she went on to compete and win the Ms. Dominican Republic title and represent her country in the Ms. Universe pageant that very same year. She coincidentally placed in the top 10. Talk about meteoric rise. Ms. Molina’s just getting started though. She can currently be seen as a social media correspondent on the long running Univision show El Gordo y La Flaca and she is slowly but surely making her bones in television. Don’t believe us! Peep this very J.Lo like moment at the most recent 2017 Premios Juventud. Yeah, if that dress could talk.

Arlenis Sosa Pena

Hailing from Monte Cristi, Dominican Republic, this high fashion runway model burst onto the fashion scene in 2008 getting signed by her modeling agency on the spot and walking the runway for the likes of some of the biggest fashion houses in the world such as Narciso Rodriguez, Ralph Lauren and Victoria’s Secret and gracing the covers of such high end fashion magazines such as Elle and various international issues of Vogue.

Birmania Rios

This Dominican American journalist and news host was actually born in New York and raised in Puerto Rico, but has nothing but love for the homeland. She can currently be seen on Univision’s popular morning show Despierta America, and she’s clearly one hell of a reason to get out of bed in the morning.

Lineisy Montero

The 19-year-old was discovered at an amusement park in her hometown of Santo Domingo. She is now signed to NEXT Models, lives in Paris and walked her first ever runway show as an exclusive for Prada. Since then she’s graced the runways of Céline, Givenchy and Louis Vuitton. Rocking an all natural look she’s one of the new “it” girls in the world of high fashion. Be the change, they say, Lineisy Montero’s just that!

Amelia Vega

When you can put Miss Universe on your IMDB page, hotness is not an issue for you. But when when you are the first from your country to snag the title well then you’re on a whole other level. The 6-foot stunner Vega did just that, but much has happened for Vega since the title win, she’s gone on to various film roles such as The Lost City with Andy Garcia and musical endeavors singing along side the likes Juan Louis Guerra and serving as opening act for Marc Anthony and Cheyenne. Currently a business owner of various boutiques in Miami, there seems to be nothing she can’t’ do.

Mirtha Michelle

This author, model and actress is still on the come up, but we see breakout success coming anytime now. Already having snagged parts in films like Fast & Furious, she’s also added published author to her CV, with a best selling book of poetry, “Letters to the Men I Have Loved,” which was released in 2014 and recently released her second book of poems “Elusive Loves”. Next up, development of a television series on her first book. Damn, beauty, brains and drive. What more could you ask for.

Celines Toribio

Hailing straight outta Santo Domingo, this model, turned t.v. host, turned film actress and producer seems to accomplish whatever she sets her sights on. Back in the day it was hosting local shows on Univision such as Control – memba that? Then she took the sports world by storm hosting Major League Baseball program Sabor a Beisbol on ESPN Deportes from 2002 through 2006. When she tried to up her game to film work and found that Hollywouldn’t, she set out to produce and star in her own films. Her most recent effort a biopic of another Dominican starlet – Maria Montez. Well done.

Zoe Saldana

The biggest star to come out the Dominican Republic (by way of Queens, NYC) thus far. Do we even have to explain it to you? Having starred in such Hollywood blockbusters such as Avatar, Star Trek and Guardians of the Galaxy, this dominicana is a franchise magnet. Oh yes, in between making hit films she is a proud mama to a set of twins. Talk about doing it all.

Dania Ramirez

Another dominicana that needs no introduction. Ms. Ramirez has been holding it down in the game for over decade. We first fell in love with her when she debuted in Spike Lee’s She Hate Me, playing none other than Kerry Washington’s lover – yes Olivia Pope herself. Since then she’s been tearing it up on shows like Entourage, The Sopranos and more recently Devious Maids. All we can say is keep on keepin’ on.
